providing a place where all can flourishWe invite your support for the creation of the Newman Meeting Place – a large, flexible space with adaptable seating, toilet facilities, and catering, which will provide an appropriate meeting place for the church, and a safe, comfortable and well equipped space for our community where all can flourish. Click here to visit our project design page.
The Newman Meeting Place will also enable us to develop the support, personal development and therapeutic work with disadvantaged members of our community: our youth; our elderly; and those living with Mental Health issues.
As a result of this project, we estimate that every week more than 150 people who have complex and serious life problems will find their lives positively impacted by these new facilities offered at the heart of their community. |
Our MissionOur church of St Mary and St Nicholas, Littlemore, Oxford, was built in 1836 by John Henry Newman, key member of the Oxford Movement, theologian and poet. 183 years later, St Mary and St Nicholas (Littlemore Church) is a vital centre for worship, music and community. But in our current state we lack many of the basics we need to better serve our community. The creation of the Newman Meeting Place will help us to further develop our mission.
|
‘To renew Newman’s vision for the 21st century; and to transform a simple church into a spiritual, cultural and social meeting place, in order to serve the needs of the diverse community of Littlemore.’

Generous God, lead us with your kindly light along the path of faith and trust, as we pray for your help and resources to complete our building project, to your glory. Amen
